I will guide our conversation into the Elemental Dimensions ~ the potent fields of energy that makeup our Soul Embodied Human ecology. We will be meeting each guest in their present moment truth ~ listening with what is unfurling in the current of their reality and the gems of wisdom that have birthed from their constellation of experience. We will hear what their Heart is guiding them into, how they connect with their guidance, what they are alchemizing in their shadows, how their actual bodies speak to them, and how Nature plays an integral role in their lives. We will learn what they are cultivating with their Gifts and how those pursuits weave into their transformative growth!

! We touched into the power of Inquiry as the pathway of cultivating intimacy with ourselves and with the intricate mystery that is Life here on Earth. Portia shares about her relationship with Nature as a safe place to listen and be heard, introducing us to a few wonderful Plant Guides and the Elemental energies that resonate deeply with her Soul Truth. We explore the body and emotions as powerful communications and how to BE with the intensity that we experience. We share our love of Not Knowing and the curiosities we have around the true Human History. “How do I live my life in such a way that I am able to honor the things that are calling to me?”
“It’s great when we are working with a plant teacher to sit with the live plant if we can, and then take it internally if possible. Those two things together, if we can do them, can bring some really deep synergies.”
“In any guidance that I receive, there is never any fear. It’s always a deep sense of trust. It’s always quiet, present and persistent, the answers I receive. And they come to me as feelings in my heart or sometimes I just have thoughts that arise.”
“Becoming more intimate with your being, the perspective that you are experiencing this reality from, allows you to become more intimate with Life itself. It brings such vitality.”
“It's been a journey of finer and finer awareness of the energy in my body and relating to that from a place of acceptance rather than judgment.”
“I am a Microbiologist and I study Life. I study things I cannot see. So, I am always keenly aware of the limits of our perception, and the limits of our knowledge, especially right now.”

“I’m living my childhood dreams of being a scientist and herbalist. Even though I’ve been a microbiologist for over a decade, I have yet to get over the awe and wonder that first drew me to the study of life. And really, it wasn’t just awe and wonder, it was a deep need for connection. The study of life saved my life.
I’m currently exploring new ways of expressing myself and sharing how my journey through the study of life was an act of healing, and an act of rebellion. I’m not like most scientists: I’m not white, I’m not male, I didn’t have a stable two-parent home, my father didn’t go to college, my mother struggled with mental illness and addiction, I have no generational wealth, I was a college drop-out, I never believed that life is pure mechanism.
Although academic science has long been overly fixated on reducing life to its measurable workings, the unveiled mechanisms still reveal the fundamental truth of our interconnection: that there is no such thing as an individual. This is the guiding principle in my research as I study our intimate symbiosis with the microbial world. The common thread through all my practices to heal from trauma and live a vibrant life guided by intuition is that of connection--through meditation, plant medicine, and life itself.”
